SPFL Fans’ Preview: Bullish Hibernian can finally nab promotion

Hibernian's David Gray

The new season is now just days away and we’re back to bring you the latest of our Ladbrokes SPFL Fans’ Previews. In the build-up to the new campaign we’re asking a cross-section of passionate supporters how they think their side will get on and who’ll shine this season.

Stuart McClelland’s is still beaming after Hibs’ famous cup win in MayHe follows the men from Leith all over the country as well as being one of the head honchos at the Hibs.net forum.

Here’s how he’s calling it…

The Club:

If you could sign one star from the past…

Merouane Zemmama or similar. A really creative type who can make something from nothing.

I’m most excited about this season because…

We have the very real chance of winning the league and all the pressure and excitement that comes with that.

I’m least excited about this season because…

No matter what happens it’s unlikely we will get as good an ending to this season as the one just past!

Two songs that define your side?

Sunshine on Leith obviously gets a mention and since May, Time For Heroes by The Libertines probably fits.

Actor that would play your gaffer in a film and why?

Karen Gillan. A feisty redhead.

Key Player?

Dylan McGeough.

We have a lot of talented midfielders but for me he’s the man that makes us tick. If we keep him fit we will be a better team.

Weak links?

We probably lack a bit strength in depth, especially up top, but on the whole we have a very strong first XI.

Headline Generator?

Jason Cummings.

On and off the park he’s not someone who is easily ignored. Plenty more goals and one liners to come this season hopefully.

Young player to watch this season?

Scott Martin.

I’ve liked him since first seeing him  play for the development side a while back. He reminds me a bit of the Hibs era Scott Brown.

League Predictions:

Your position?

Champions

Title Winner?

Us. Finally.

2nd Place?

Dundee Utd

Bottom?

Dumbarton, especially as they won’t get six points from us this season.

Top Goalscorer pick?

Jason Cummings, closely followed by James Keatings.

Surprise team of the season?

Ayr

I reckon they could be around about mid-table as opposed to in a relegation scrap. That would likely see the return of an Ayrshire derby the following season.
