Bookies price BoJo to lie in front of Heathrow runway bulldozer

Boris Johnson - 10 Downing Street

Following the approval of a third runway at Heathrow Airport our political trading gurus have come up with a number of enticing specials.

Boris Johnson is 33/1 to lie down in front of a Heathrow third runway bulldozer, according to the latest prices available.

However, the odds suggest the Foreign Secretary may not have to worry about any protest for a while as our traders make it odds-on at 8/11 that no commercial passenger flight takes off from the third runway before 2026.

As a result of the decision a market is now offered on a potential Richmond Park by-election for the first time, with Zac Goldsmith the 2/5 favourite to win should he run as an independent, ahead of the Liberal Democrats at 5/2.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve waited long enough for the decision and the betting indicates plane spotters will require patience for at least a decade before the first commercial take off from the new runway.”

Meanwhile, it’s 3/1 for the Government to back Gatwick instead of Heathrow.
