Poll Reaction: Should Man City boss have kept Joe Hart at the Etihad?

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola oversaw goalkeeper Joe Hart’s departure from the Etihad this summer. But was he right in doing so? We threw the question out to our trusted followers, and the results have been counted and verified…

Sending England’s number one packing resulted in several raised eyebrows from fans and pundits alike, despite Guardiola arguing that the shotstopper’s approach wasn’t what he was looking for.

But, according to our followers, last night’s Man of the Match performance against Slovenia only further emphasised just how wrong the City boss was to get rid of his longest serving player.

In one of the most one-sided polls we’ve seen in weeks, a staggering 66 per cent of you agreed that Pep should have kept hold of Hart.

While new keeper Claudio Bravo has impressed in patches since arriving in the blue half of Manchester back in August, it’s clear for all to see that the Chilean does have a mistake or two in his game.

However, the same can’t be said for Hart, who has conceded just three goals in five games for his new club Torino, who sit comfortably in the top-half of Serie A, two points off a Champions League spot.

Up next for Guardiola is the visit of high-fliers Everton, where the home side are 10/21 favourites to get back to winning ways following a defeat against Tottenham Hotspur prior to the international break.

Elsewhere, English fans will undoubtedly be keeping one eye on proceedings in Italy, as Hart’s Torino travel to Palermo on Monday evening. It’s 20/21 for the visitors to maintain their fine form and leave the Stadio Renzo Barbera with all three points for the second year in a row.
