Mourinho and Wenger 5/2 not to shake hands on Saturday

Published:

Manchester United versus Arsenal is often one of the games of the season, but this year’s contests will have a little extra spice as Jose Mourinho comes face-to-face with Arsene Wenger.

The pair, responsible for five of this century’s 16 Premier League titles, have famously endured a war of words.

The Special One labelled Wenger ‘a specialist in failure’ in 2014, while the Frenchman once said of Mourinho: “When you give success to stupid people, it makes them more stupid sometimes.”

So much shade.

And even though the likes of Paul Pogba, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be strutting their stuff on the Old Trafford turf, there could be more entertainment and drama on the touchline.

Wenger and Mourinho have come to blows before, and we make it 5/2 the sparring rivals do NOT shake hands following the full-time whistle on Saturday.

United have endured a difficult run of form, and they know they could slip 11 points off the pace this weekend.

So the pressure is very much on for Jose and his side.

The Portuguese has already been in trouble with the officials more than once this season, and the bookies go 10/1 that Jose is sent to the stands.

And Wenger has previous at Old Trafford too, memorably being dismissed and stuck for a place to go in 2009.

It’s 25/1 the Arsenal boss suffers a repeat.

And with so much at stake – the Gunners could go top – plus the acrimony between the two bosses, who could rule out both men being handed their marching orders at 100/1?
