Big Sam Allardyce favourite to replace Bilic at West Ham

Published:

Sam Allardyce could be set to return to West Ham if the club part ways with Slaven Bilic, according to the latest odds.

The bookies have opened betting on the next Hammers boss as Bilic heads into showdown talks with the club’s board and Allardyce is made the early favourite at 9/2.

Frank de Boer is next at 5/1 leaving the remainder of the field – including Harry Redknapp – quoted at much larger prices out to 33/1.

Bilic is the second favourite in the bookies’ sack race market, behind new Swansea gaffer Bob Bradley at 6/4.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Should West Ham decide Bilic’s time is up the betting suggests we could see a familiar face return to the club.

“Big Sam has now been made favourite for a potential Premier League job for the second time in as many weeks, so the odds of seeing him in any top flight dugout this season are shortening by the day.”

The Hammers are 6/1 for the drop, but those odds could shorten next weekend, when the London side head to Liverpool to face Jurgen Klopp’s attack-happy reds.

Should Bilic see his side handed another hammering, could it spell the end for the Croatian?
