Snowfall in Scotlands leads the way in White Christmas betting

Published:

We’re yet to see snowfall in the UK in the build-up to Christmas, but there’s still time for the temperatures to take a sudden drop.

And right now, as expected, it’s the northern cities in the UK leading the way in the market for a White Christmas, with Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow all priced up at 2/1, while it’s 2s for snow to fall in Newcastle.

London is deemed a 4/1 shot to experience some snowfall on December 25, while the further south we go, the longer the odds are for a white-out.

Surprisingly though, it’s London that leads the way in terms of money put down, with 30.8 per cent of all stakes in this market being placed on the English Capital.

The least backed city, however, is Cork, with 6/1 on offer for a White Christmas in Ireland.

And it’s just as unlikely that we see snow over in Northern Ireland or Wales, with Belfast priced up at 5/1 and Cardiff 6s.

Ladbrokes News’ William Geldart said: “Right now it’s all quiet on the White Christmas front but if the mercury drops then we’ll have to batten down the hatches and prepare for a flurry of betting activity.”
