BREAKING: Allegri now just 6/1 from 16s for Arsenal job post-Wenger
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe may still be leading the way in the Next Permanent Arsenal Manager market, but Juventus boss Max Allegri is now right behind him in the race for the role.
Having previously been priced up as a 16/1 outsider for the position after Arsene Wenger, his odds have this morning been slashed into just 6/1.
While that’s the shortest they’ve ever been, we’re expecting them to drop even further over the coming weeks, as speculation surrounding Wenger’s future intensifies.
Many expect this to be the Frenchman’s last year in charge at the Emirates. And if that is to be believed, it’s likely the Gunners will start approaching potential successors soon.
Allegri is thought to be high on Arsenal’s list of possible replacements, and the Italian boss has already hinted that he’d be interested in a move to the Emirates.
Currently at the top of the Serie A table, Juve supporters amazingly remain unconvinced that Allegri is the man to take the club forward – despite winning back-to-back league titles in the two years he’s been there.
Believed to be in ‘advanced talks’ with Arsenal chiefs, there’s arguably never been a better time to back Allegri in this market, especially at 6/1.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl remains a 9/1 shot for the job after Wenger – but our traders clearly think it will come down to the two men at the head of the market.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Allegri’s Arsenal odds have fallen significantly, thrusting him firmly into contention to replace Wenger. If the interest in the Juve boss continues at this pace, he could soon be the favourite for the job.”
