Glastonbury’s new moniker Variety Bazaar 5/4 to be ditched

The Variety Bazaar may never actually see the light of day according to the latest odds.

Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis confessed that the musical extravaganza would be renamed to The Variety Bazaar, ahead of its temporary move away from Worthy Farm.

And the bookies have immediately chalked it up as a 5/4 shot the festival continues as normal and is officially called Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in 2019.

It remains to be seen where the festival moves to, with Eavis hinting that it will be ‘halfway to the Midlands’.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Glastonbury’s location might be changing, but as far as festivalgoers are concerned its name won’t be.

“The Variety Bazaar is already facing huge backlash, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a u-turn during the next two years.”

This year’s festival takes place from June 21-25, with numerous rumours linking the Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran as the headline performers, while Radiohead will return to the iconic Pyramid Stage.
