Liverpool were scoring goals for fun this season, but when Plymouth came to Anfield the goals dried up. That’s the magic of the Emirates FA Cup.

The League Two side held firm as Jurgen Klopp made 10 changes to his Reds line-up, but his plan on resting key man backfired.

Playing the youngest Liverpool side in history, the new-look Reds couldn’t find a way past their underdog opponents.

And the Pilgrims will take the Premier League title challengers back to Home Park for a Replay, after an admirable performance on Merseyside.

It wasn’t exactly a classic affair for the neutral though.

Journalist Tony Barrett had probably witnessed better first halves…

The visitors arrived with a game plan and executed it perfectly.

After more of the same in the second period, Klopp brought out the big guns.

Plymouth were keen to see what Liverpool’s youngsters could achieve…

But even the talents of Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana couldn’t break down the League Two side, who are deservedly in the hat for the Fourth Round.
