Odds slashed on Man United target Griezmann joining Arsenal

Manchester United looked to be running away from their rivals in the race for Antoine Griezmann’s signature. But following reports that Arsenal are willing to meet Atletico Madrid’s £85m valuation, our traders have been forced to react.
The Red Devils are still 5/4 favourites, but they had been odds-on earlier this month.
But having previously been priced up as 9/1 outsiders to land the France international, the Gunners are now just behind United in the market at 4/1.
And those odds will likely drop further over the coming months, as speculation surrounding Alexis Sanchez’s future intensifies.
Still yet to sign a contract extension at the Emirates, the Chile star has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, potentially giving Arsenal the upper hand over Man United in their battle for Griezmann.
The 25-year-old has had a relatively mediocre campaign thus far in Spain by his standards, chipping in with eight goals and four assists in La Liga, while Los Rojiblancos have struggled to replicate their form of recent years.
Diego Simeone’s men find themselves in fourth-place in the league right now – some seven points off league leaders Real Madrid – having played two games more than their local rivals.
And it’s thought Atletico will look to cash in on their star player before his value drops should the side finish outside the top four.
That’s put Europe’s elite clubs on red alert, with a whole host of other sides being linked with a move for Griezmann.
One of those is Paris Saint-Germain who, like Arsenal, are 4/1 shots to sign the forward.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are currently 9/1 to add Griezmann to their ranks, while Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also some way off at 10/1 and 14/1 respectively.
