Sevilla linked with surprise loan move for Marcus Rashford

Published:

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford could soon be subject to a move from Spanish title challengers Sevilla.

This weekend’s papers claim the Rojiblancos want to bring the 19-year-old on-loan until the end of the season.

Enjoying their best La Liga campaign in years, it’s believed head coach Jorge Sampaoli wants Rashford to enhance their title hopes.

The striker has been forced to take a watching brief at Old Trafford this season, with Jose Mourinho preferring Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as foils for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Rashford has made 26 appearances this term, but the England international is averaging only 53 minutes per game, and has started just eight Premier League fixtures.

The move to Spain would allow the teenager to continue playing at the highest level, while perhaps receiving more game-time than he would in Manchester.
