ITV Racing Tips: Red is definitely the colour to be on at Donny

The ITV Racing cameras are heading both north and south this Saturday with seven races coming your way via Doncaster and Newbury.
The Grimthorpe Chase promises to reveal plenty of Grand National pointers on Town Moor while the Greatwood Gold Cup is your highlight from Berkshire.
Kim Bailey’s The Last Samuri has been well-backed all week to complete a Grimthorpe double and defend the crown he won last year.
Meanwhile, Paul Nicholls’ horses have a fantastic record in the Greatwood and his entrant Vibrato Valtat is sure to be popular this weekend.

Our selection was a ready winner of the Scottish Champion Chase with jockey Sam Twiston-Davies getting his tactics spot-on to score by eight lengths.
If his replacement Nick Scholfield can conjure up a similar performance then we can’t see San Benedeto being beaten although Bright New Dawn rates as a danger and Katgary could outrun his odds.
Trainer Brian Ellison is due a change in luck following a difficult couple of weeks and it looks like his fortunes will turn around when Definitly Red lines-up at Donny.
The improving eight-year-old unseated his rider when three out in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock but a Grade 3 win at Wetherby prior to that is more indicative of his promise.
Last year’s winner, The Last Samuri, is now rated 12lb higher and though he’s still well-respected we’re backing against his Grimthorpe double bid.
Paul Nicholls has farmed the Greatwood Gold Cup since its inception in 2004, winning eight of the subsequent runnings, including the last two.
However, we’re opposing his Vibrato Valtat and More Buck’s and instead focussing our attention on Thomas Crapper.
The Robin Dickin-trained charge is 1-19 over fences but that win came off 6lb higher over course and distance last April.
This game 10-year-old has put in some credible performances in pattern races this term and we reckon he’s well worth a small each-way wager.
