Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City want Schalke’s out-of-contract star

A trio of the Premier League’s biggest sides are set for a transfer war over Schalke ace Sead Kolasinac this summer.

The left-back’s contract is up at the end of the season, and there has been next to no suggestion that any extension with Schalke is forthcoming.

The 23-year-old, also comfortable at left midfield, has shone in the Bundesliga this season, scoring three goals in addition to five assists.

It’s also worth nothing that Schalke have failed to win any of their games this year when Kolasinac has been absent, such is his importance to the German outfit.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international would be welcomed at Anfield, with boss Jurgen Klopp looking for a permanent man to fill the left-back role.

James Milner has done an admirable job, but it’s widely regarded that the Reds cannot compete at the top without a fully-fledged player in that position.

And according to German outlet Bild, Klopp has already moved for Kolasinac.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach faces a fight however, with Arsenal and Manchester City are also reportedly keen.

The Gunners are looking for someone to add competition for Nacho Monreal, while Pep Guardiola is set for a defensive overhaul this summer.

And Italian trio AC Milan, Juventus and Roma have been linked with Kolasinac too.

The German-born ace spent his youth career at a number of renowned clubs – including Hoffenheim and Stuttgart – before making his professional debut with Schalke in 2012.

Kolasinac has since made over 120 appearances for Die Konigsblauen, in addition to earning 17 international caps.
