Tottenham strong favourites in battle to snap up Burnley hero

Tottenham could be set to boost their already impressive forward line this summer, with the Lilywhites 3/1 favourites to be Andre Gray’s next club.

The 25-year-old is believed to be the first name on Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist, and it’s easy to see why the Argentine gaffer is so keen to snap up the Clarets ace.

Gray has netted nine times so far this season, helping Sean Dyche’s men to all but secure their Premier League status. That’s followed a hugely impressive campaign in the Championship last season, as the Wolverhampton-born striker fired home 23 goals.

Unsurprisingly, that’s led to interest from across the Premier League, with Merseyside giants Everton and Liverpool 6/1 apiece to secure his services.

Elsewhere, Chelsea and Arsenal are each 8/1 to sign the talented marksman, while it’s the same price that he makes a lucrative switch to the Chinese Super League.

Having plied his trade in Non-League with the likes of Hinckley United and Luton Town until 2014, a move to any of the above would represent yet another step in a quite incredible journey.

However, it might not all be such good news for Spurs fans, with Harry Kane increasingly linked with an exit from White Hart Lane – meaning Gray could be his replacement, as opposed to the fan favourite’s strike partner.

There are similar worries across north London too, with Arsenal seemingly likely to lose their star striker Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean is 9/2 to head to Juventus next, with 7/1 for Paris Saint-Germain to secure his signature, and 10/1 on offer for him to become the latest Gunners ace to exit for Manchester City.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Tottenham could be set to welcome a new goalscoring hero this summer, while across North London, Arsenal’s top marksman could be saying his goodbyes.”
