Chelsea’s defensive rock Evens to rejoin Mourinho at Man United

Manchester United have already unlocked their transfer war chest this summer to bring in Victor Lindelof from Benfica. And now it seems another key addition could be made in the shape of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The Serbian is just even-money to join the Red Devils, with Jose Mourinho – the man who returned him to the Bridge in 2014 – very keen to secure the 28-year-old’s signature.

Matic was one of the Blues’ key performers last season, putting in one masterful display after another, both defensively and creatively – chalking up eight assists in the Premier League alone.

However, despite interest from across the continent, United look like the only side with a good chance of securing his services. That’s because Juventus and Bayern Munich – second and third in the betting – are priced at 7/1 and 10/1 respectively.

And if he does head to Old Trafford before the window closes, the former Benfica man could be one of a number of star-studded arrivals to do so.
