Burnley v Arsenal: Clarets’ defence can frustrate Gunners

| 25.11.2017

Sean Dyche’s high-flying Burnley are the talk of the town at present, and they host Arsenal for Sunday’s 2:00pm kick-off in what could prove to be a low-scoring affair.

Arsenal have landed the spoils in their last two visits to Turf Moor winning 1-0 on both occasions and the Gunners head into the weekend’s game off the back of an impressive victory in the North London derby.

Although a line can be struck through their midweek Europa League defeat to Cologne after fielding a weakened side, it will have come as an unwelcome distraction to Wenger’s plans.

Now they face an in-form Burnley outfit that have put together a run of three consecutive victories without conceding a goal.

The Clarets are resolute, well organised and possess the armoury capable of hurting the top teams.

It could pay to keep faith with the hosts’ who are currently a 5/1 chance, while the draw is 16/5, and it’s 8/15 about the visitors.

However, the safer bet could come in the handicap market where Burnley +1 is 6/4.

But for those with the opinion that the North-Londoners can continue their rich vein of Premier League form, Arsenal -1 is available at 29/20.

Wenger’s men will spend much of the game on the front foot, with the Burnley back line likely to sit deep – they achieved just 39% possession in their 2-0 home victory over strugglers Swansea City.

This suggests Alexandre Lacazette may not enjoy the space he received against Spurs’ and we believe 7/2 for Alexis Sanchez to be the first goalscorer could prove a solid alternative.

Jeff Hendrick can be the value in the anytime to score market, he has two Premier League goals to his name already this season and it’s 7/2 that the Irishman adds another to his tally.

Meanwhile, 23/20 for under 2.5 goals looks a good bet in what may prove to be a frustrating afternoon for the Gunners’.
