One hand on the trophy? Man City now 1/7 for Premier League title

Published:

Manchester City are now 1/7 favourites to win this season’s Premier League.

The Citizens saw off Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon, before seeing rivals Manchester United lose 1-0 to Chelsea.

It means Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring side are now a sizeable eight points clear.

And having won 10 and drawn 1 of their 11 matches so far, it’s hard to see City dropping that many points.

Tottenham Hotspur are 12/1 second favourites. Spurs defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday, thanks to a second-half effort from Son Heung-Min.

Jose Mourinho’s Man United have tumbled out to 14/1, following a run which has seen them win only one of their last four league games.

The Red Devils have only scored twice in that spell.

Reigning champions Chelsea are next up at 16/1.

Antonio Conte’s Blues have won three on the spin since that shock defeat away at Palace, but they remain nine points behind City.

Liverpool are a 50/1 shot to win the title for the first time since 1990, while 100/1 Arsenal are the only other side shorter than 500/1.

The Premier League takes a break next weekend while the final round of World Cup qualifiers are contested.
