Boris is the only name in Ladbrokes’s Royal Baby market that hasn’t seen a single penny wagered on it.
Our traders have over 100 names in their market and we can reveal that, although perhaps not too surprisingly, Boris (200/1) is the only name that is completely friendless with punters’ cash.
Even fellow outsiders such as Bruce (100/1), Donald (250/1), Nigel (250/1), Rodney (300/1) and Keith (300/1) have seen at least one wager placed on their moniker.
Interestingly, the biggest payout Ladbrokes face isn’t on one of the front runners, instead it’s for 500/1 shot Leroy.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It arguably speaks volumes that Boris is the most unpopular baby name, and that a single British penny has failed to be wagered on it.”
She added: “Even Donald has seen money put down with the firm, which is staggering in itself.”
