Marseille v Atletico Madrid tips: Spaniards look good for Europa League

| 16.05.2018

Atletico Madrid are bidding for a third Europa League crown tonight, as they face an Olympique Marseille side who’ve done well to make it this far.

The French side squeezed past Red Bull Salzburg after extra-time in their semi-final. But they’ve won just one of the last four games in all competitions. And they’re unlikely to have much joy against a side with La Liga’s best defensive record.

In the match betting, Atletico are 10/11 to grab victory in 90 minutes. Meanwhile, it’s 16/5 for a Marseille triumph, and 11/5 for the game to reach extra-time.

Meanwhile, the Madrid outfit are 3/10 to lift the trophy, whilst it’s 12/5 for l’OM to achieve the feat.

None of Atletico’s last six games have produced more than two goals, though they’ve still won three from four ahead of this clash. It’s 4/7 for Under 2.5 Goals, whilst the odds make Atletico to Win to Nil a 2/1 shot.

In the goalscorer markets, Antoine Griezmann could be the man to make the difference.

The French striker has scored 14 in his last 19 for Diego Simeone’s side – closing the scoring in five of those matches. He’s Evens to net Anytime, while the 27-year-old is 13/5 to be Last Goalscorer.

His teammate Diego Costa is 7/4 to register, having bagged the decisive semi-final goal against Arsenal.

If Marseille are to get anything, the in-form Florian Thauvin is the man most likely at 12/5 Anytime. Former West Ham United ace Dmitri Payet is also having a good campaign, and the pair could link up again to do Atletico some damage.

Simeone’s side tend to be strong starters, and have led at the 15-minute mark six times this term – including in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Getafe.

It’s 11/2 for Result After 15 Minutes: Atletico, whilst the Spanish giants are 15/2 to grab a 2-0 win on the night.
