Sajid Javid favourite to replace Theresa May as PM

Sajid Javid is the favourite to replace Theresa May as the Prime Minister following yesterday’s hectic Cabinet re-shuffle.

The Home Secretary is now 9/2 to move into 10 Downing Street. He’s slightly ahead of Jacob Rees-Mogg (5/1).

We may not have to wait too long to see a new Prime Minister either. After David Davis and Boris Johnson resigned, it’s now just 4/7 that May resigns before 2018 is over.

It’s 11/2 that Jeremy Corbyn leads a Labour government, while Johnson himself is an 8/1 shot.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Theresa May’s days in Number 10 look numbered and the latest betting suggests it’s Sajid Javid who’ll take over as PM.”
