Today’s US Open action sees the second round in the Men’s and Women’s draws wrap up.

Before the players step onto the court, we’ve got some tips for today’s standout matches to help you make your selections.

Roger Federer to beat Benoit Paire and Under 30.5 Total Games – 5/6

Watching Federer at his best remains one of the best sights in sport. The Swiss legend offered a reminder of his class in his first-round win against Yoshito Nishioka.

His next opponent also likes to entertain, but there’s a clear gulf in class. Federer should get through without too many problems, but it’ll be well worth watching.

Alexander Zverev to beat Nicolas Mahut 3-1 – 11/4

Two players at opposite ends of their careers meet here with 15 years separating them. Zverev has the potential to go right to the top, while Mahut is a wily veteran.

Zverev has never progressed beyond the second round of the US Open before. This is a great chance for him to break through that barrier. But Mahut’s experience will ensure the world No. 4 has to work for the win.

Caroline Garcia to beat Monica Puig 2-0 – 11/10

Caroline Garcia may be ranked No. 6 in the world, but she’s lost all three of her previous matches against Monica Puig. That looks set to change here.

After beating Garcia in New Haven last week, Puig had to retire in the next round with an abdominal injury. If the Olympic champion is still feeling the effects of that blow, Garcia should be too strong for her.

Marketa Vondrousova to beat Eugenie Bouchard – 11/10

The odds suggest Vondrousova is the underdog here, but Bouchard is a long way from the highs of her 2014 season. Back then, she reached the semi-finals at least in three of the four Grand Slams. She’s lost to weak opposition in Vancouver and Montreal in the last two weeks alone.

Vondrousova has yet to showcase her ability on the big stages. But she’s performed much better on hard surfaces than Bouchard in recent times.
