The Champions League group stages begin tonight and Liverpool’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain could be an unmissable encounter.

It pitches last season’s runners-up with the French champions.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino take on Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, and both sides have won the opening five games of their respective league campaigns.

We should be in for a rip-roaring Group C encounter at Anfield – with an atmosphere to match. Here’s your one-stop match preview…

Match odds

PSG may have two of the most expensive players in world football, but Liverpool are favourites on home soil at 21/20.

The French side are 23/10 outsiders, with the draw priced up at 27/10.

Talking tactics

Liverpool and PSG are quite similar in their chosen styles of play.

The Reds will be hoping Salah, Mane and Firmino can break through the French side’s defence. But equally, Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani and Angel di Maria will be out to do likewise.

Individual brilliance and moments of magic lie at the tip of every boot tonight, but the game could come down to who controls the midfield. Liverpool need James Milner and Jordan Henderson to have big nights.

Goalscorer odds

Salah is the 16/5 favourite to score first. The Egyptian missed two good chances in Saturday’s win over Tottenham Hotspur, and will be eager to make amends.

Cavani and Neymar are 11/2 to break the deadlock, with Mbappe, Mane and Firmino each 6/1. The latter is carrying an eye injury however, which may see Daniel Sturridge handed a rare start.

There’s 5/1 about the Englishman bagging the opener tonight.

Individual quality and moments oAs for the anytime market, Salah is the only player odds-on at 10/11. Neymar is 17/10 with Mbappe 15/8.
