Charlie Austin’s injury time goal in a 3-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur was just a consolation for Southampton fans. But for one of our punters, it meant an £8.5k acca triumph.

The customer in question had all 20 Premier League sides down to score in their 10-fold acca, and they duly obliged. That marked the first time every side has netted in one Prem gameweek since 2010!

While Austin’s last-gasp effort clinched the acca, a 95th minute consolation goal from Cardiff City’s Josh Murphy was also needed to ensure the Bluebirds did their bit.

With the acca priced up around 420/1 and the digital customer plonking on a £20 stake, the winnings came out at a whopping £8,520.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s not the biggest win we’ve seen this season, but the way in which this acca landed will certainly take some beating. And if our plucky punter wasn’t a Southampton fan before last night’s game, they probably have a soft spot for Charlie Austin and co now!”
