Stephen Hawking now odds-on for £50 note face

Stephen Hawking is the first name to go odds-on in the betting to be the face of the new £50 note.

The bookies can reveal Hawking is clear favourite at 4/5 in the betting and running away with things in the popular charts – with 60% of all bets being in favour of him.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “No one up to this point has looked more likely than Stephen Hawking to be the face of the new £50 note.”
