After picking up the Best Actor award at the Oscars for his portrayal of Queen front-man Freddie Mercury, Rami Malek is linked with a big role in a James Bond film.

Malek has had his odds dropped to 2/1 to be given a role as a Bond villain in the first James Bond film without Daniel Craig.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Rami Malek’s stock continues to rise and the latest odds suggest Bond chiefs now want in.”

Tom Hiddleston is still the 3/1 favourite to replace Craig in Bond’s shoes, with James Norton and Richard Madden hot on his heels at 4/1.

Cillian Murphy and Idris Elba still sit out as 5/1 underdogs to get the role.
