Leicester v Arsenal preview

Ladbrokes shares its preview, tips and predictions for Arsenal v Leicester at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.

After matches against Tottenham and Man City over the last two weeks, Arsenal have a game that they'll consider slightly easier this weekend, a home tie against Leicester on Saturday at 3pm.

Arsenal picked up four points from those tricky two games, and they'll be hoping to make it seven out of a possible nine this weekend when they face the winless Leicester.

So, with all that being said, join Ladbrokes as our team of experts share their preview, tips and predictions for the big Arsenal v Leicester game.

Arsenal v Leicester preview

As explained, Arsenal have picked up four points in their last two games, making it a total of 11 points out of a possible 15 so far this season.

The Gunners are only two points off the top of the league, and considering they've faced Brighton, Tottenham and Man City over the last few week, the club are likely quite happy with their points total.

However, the feeling amongst the Arsenal camp will be that anything less than a win and all three points against Leicester is unacceptable, especially considering the 2023/24 Championship winners are winless in their first five games.

The bookies' odds reflect that, with Arsenal the clear and undisputed favourites to walk away from the Emirates with the win, but what if Leicester shock the world and emerge victorious? With the bookies saying that has a less than 8% chance of happening...

Leicester may be searching for their first win in the Premier League, but they've actually drawn the majority of their outings in the league this season, with three out of a possible side, so Steve Cooper's side do seem somewhat difficult to beat.

Arsenal v Leicester team news

Leandro Trossard may have picked up a red card in the intense 2-2 draw with Man City, but he actually served his one match ban in the Carabao Cup against Bolton, so he's available to play against Leicester at the weekend.

He faces competition from Raheem Sterling, who scored and assisted in his full Arsenal debut against Bolton, and Gabriel Martinelli, who was afforded some rest against the League One side as a late second-half substitute.

As for the players who are missing, it remains to be seen whether Ben White, with Mikel Arteta revealing that he'd have rather not had to bring on his star right-back against City due to an ongoing injury.

David Raya is also a fitness doubt to a thigh issue, but Neto will be able to be called upon if the number one isn't fit after missing out on making his debut against Bolton due to being cup tied.

Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino are definitely going to miss the game against Leicester, but both midfielders are expected to be deemed fit enough to return at some stage in October, which is welcomed news to Arteta and co.

Potentially filling in for Odegaard could be Ethan Nwaneiri, who is still yet to start a Premier League game. The teenager was hugely impressive in midweek though, scoring two goals, and could be in line for the nod on the weekend.

As for Leicester, things are more positive on the injury front, as only Patson Daka and reserve goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk are missing for the game against Arsenal.

Despite saving all three penalties against Walsall in the cup this week, Danny Ward is expected to drop out for Mads Hermansen, with club legend Jamie Vardy, a player who was heavily linked with Arsenal at one stage, returning to the starting 11.

Possible starting line-ups:

Arsenal - Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

Leicester - Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Skipp, Winks; Ayew, Vardy, Mavididi

Arsenal v Leicester tips & predictions

As explained in our 2024/25 Premier League weekly acca, we can't see the game ending with anything other than an Arsenal win, but we think the game is going to end with the Gunners scoring a fair few goals.

As such, we're predicting that Arsenal find the back of the net at least three times against Leicester, showing that Arteta's side isn't as toothless and defensively-minded as some critics and rival fans would have you believe.

When it comes to the goal scorers, it's hard to predict as we don't really know who'll be starting for Arsenal at the weekend, but we definitely think that Bukayo Saka will be in the 11 come 3pm on Saturday, so we're going with him.

You can either place single bets on the tips we've included within this preview article, or merge them into a five-fold acca, which we've posted below.
