British and Irish Lions odds-on to secure six or more wins
Published:
The British and Irish Lions Tour of 2017 will kick-off this Saturday in New Zealand, and we’ve priced up a whole host of special markets for the six-week event.
Warren Gatland’s side will embark on a 10-match schedule, with three Tests versus the mighty All Blacks on their home patch.
But for now we’re focusing on the whole tour.
It’s 1/16 that the Lions will be defeated at some point, with 7/1 on offer that they return home unbeaten.
But if you fancy Sam Warburton and co to have a particularly good run in New Zealand, it’s 2/1 they win seven or more.
The Lions will open this weekend against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians, where it’s 9/1 for their first loss to occur.
Far more likely is defeat to Super Rugby favourites Blues in the second contest, with 9/4 saying the Lions will suffer their first loss of the tour on June 7.
It’s 5/2 the Lions are beaten for the first time against the Crusaders on June 10, while you can get 5/1 that they make it all the way to the first Test against the All Blacks before coming unstuck.
As for how exactly how many wins the Lions will get, our traders make six the most likely outcome at 15/8.
You can get 500/1 on each of zero wins and a solitary success, while patriotic fans will surely be having a small wager on the Lions to roar home with 10 from 10.
That’s also 500/1, by the way…
