Warren Gatland’s British & Irish Lions side are clear 4/7 favourites for this year’s BBC Sports Personality Team of the Year award.
After pulling off two remarkable comebacks against New Zealand (the most recent being today’s shock draw to tie the series), the bookies reckon the BBC gong already has their name on it.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty of patriotic punters have been getting behind The Lions all week, and while today’s draw means their bets haven’t landed, take nothing away from the fighting spirit of Gatland’s side.”
“We’re not expecting the celebrations to end just yet for this team of heroes either, as we’re confident they’ll pick up their second Team of the Year award in five years after achieving the unthinkable Down Under.”
