World Cup 2022: Cameroon vs Brazil betting tips and odds

World Cup favourites Brazil have already qualified for the knockout stage and are 1/4 to win their final group game against Cameroon who are involved in a three-horse race with Serbia and Switzerland for a place in the last 16.

The Africans seemed down and out when they trailed 3-1 to the Serbs but two quickfire goals in the second half – the second a superb scooped effort over the keeper from Vincent Aboubakar – secured a thrilling 3-3 draw to leave both nations on one point, two adrift of second-placed Switzerland.

Rigobert Song’s side are 9/1 to get the victory they need on Friday to stand a chance of advancing to the next phase for the first time since 1990, so let’s look at some of the World Cup odds in our Cameroon vs Brazil betting tips.

Changes afoot for favourites

Brazil have cruised through their opening two group games and although 2-0 and 1-0 victories against Serbia and Switzerland may not get pulses racing, they did not face a shot on target in either game.

The five-time World Cup winners are 20/23 to win to nil for a third time, although head coach Tite is likely to ring the changes ahead of a clash with either Ghana, Uruguay or South Korea in the knockout stage.

Despite the absence of injured forward Neymar, Tite has the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal team-mate Gabriel Martinelli, Rodrygo, Alex Telles, Bruno Guimaraes and Fabinho at his disposal, so Cameroon still have a tough game on their hands.

With that in mind, Draw HT/Brazil FT at 13/5 looks a plausible outcome just as it was in both of the South Americans’ group matches, while another goalless opening 45 minutes is available at 21/10 in the World Cup betting.

Brazil, now 5/2 to win the World Cup for a sixth time and their first in 20 years, may not have been banging in the goals but they twice hit the woodwork against Serbia and had one ruled out for offside against the Swiss, so Cameroon will fear the worst if they concede early knowing they need to chase the game.

Although Cameroon struck three times against Serbia, their opponents scored 18 goals and conceded nine times in eight qualifiers so their defence was hardly watertight heading into the World Cup, unlike Brazil who let in just five in 17 matches.

The favourites to win either half, score at least twice and keep a clean sheet at 11/8 as a #BuildABet option looks the way to go as one of our Cameroon vs Brazil betting tips.

Jesus to feed team-mates

Jesus is on a dry spell in goalscoring terms with Arsenal, but only Kevin De Bruyne and Bukayo Saka have a better assist record in the Premier League than him this season.

Richarlison could be rested especially with Neymar out for the rest of the group stage and that could open the door for the Gunners striker.

Jesus is 10/3 to break the deadlock and 21/20 to score, but the Gunners star looks a much better option at 16/5 to provide an assist in what could be a packed penalty area.

Bruno Guimaraes is in a rich vein of form with Newcastle and could get a place in the starting line-up in order to give Casemiro a rest, so he looks a decent shout at 3/1 in the anytime goalscorer market as one of our Cameroon vs Brazil betting tips.
