Ella Shaw big value for Britain’s Got Talent success after wowing judges
Published:
After spending a couple of weeks showcasing the country’s wackier sides, it appears Britain’s Got Talent is back on the straight and narrow (well sort of).
Saturday’s show wasn’t lacking in ‘Yes’ action to say the least with 13 acts given a ticket through to the next round.
Of that group, the most likely show winners, in the eyes of the market at least are UDI (4/1), a dance/light show troupe hailing from Siberia.
While they were good, we can’t help but feel they are just too similar to 2013 winners Attraction to justify being such a short price.
Instead, here are the three acts this weekend that had us here at Ladbrokes News stand up and take notice.
Mitch and Cally the Wonderdog
Everyone loves a dog act, don’t they? Well how about one with a pooch that is hungry to break world records?
The Jack Russell was tasked with breaking the record for the quickest time a dog had burst 100 balloons.
The energetic canine couldn’t quite take the accolade, but we love a trier, and were pleased to see the 100/1 shot given a second chance in the next round.
Vladimir Georgievsky
No one could have expected the 45-year-old, Russian-born Swansea citizen to have delivered the laughs and cheers he did when he took to the stage.
What we now know is that Georgievsky is actually a member of the Moscow State Circus, something we can believe after seeing his comedy trampolining act.
With a hark back to the slapstick days of silent movies, he had the judges commenting on the refreshing nature of this kind of act. At 40/1 he could be a lively outsider.
Ella Shaw
Over the years of Britain’s Got Talent and the X-Factor, it’s become clear that performing an original song can go one of two ways.
While many have left the judges pulling their hair out and the audience seemingly baying for blood, Ella Shaw was different.
The 18-year-old pianist and singer blew away the panel with her performance of ‘Summertime’, a song she penned herself.
Currently a 12/1 shot, the woman described by Simon Cowell as “mega, mega talented”, looks outstanding value to land the spoils in a few months time.
