Euro 2024: Netherlands more popular in the betting than England

The Netherlands will head into tonight's Euro 2024 semi-final as the most popular pick with punters to reach the final, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have revealed the damning numbers for England, who have been the subject of just 41.7% of all stakes placed in the match betting up to this point, while the Netherlands lead the way with 44.2% of the backing.

Elsewhere, plenty of punters are expecting even more drama, and even more minutes for Gareth Southgate's side to play, with 14.1% of stakes being placed on the draw after 90 minutes, which would force extra-time, and potentially another penalty shootout. 

As for the outright betting for the tournament, Spain unsurprisingly lead the way as things stand, at 4/7, with England currently 11/4 in the betting ahead of tonight's opponents (5/1).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "By hook or by crook, Gareth Southgate's men have made it to another major semi-final, although our punters seem to think it'll be the end of the road for Harry Kane and co tonight."

England's Harry Kane remains in the running for the Euro 2024 Golden Boot, alongside Cody Gakpo, whilst Jude Bellingham and Gakpo are two of the favourites for the Player of the Tournament.
