Fans have spoken: Rodgers is right man for Celtic job
Published:
Brendan Rodgers is on the brink of landing the vacant Celtic job and according to Twitter the Northern Irishman would be a popular appointment.
The Parkhead club have been holding talks with the former Liverpool and Swansea boss with Malky Mackay, David Moyes, Roy Keane and Ryan Giggs also reportedly in the frame.
The momentum is with Rodgers, however, and ahead of any announcement we asked our Twitter followers to have their say on whether or not they feel he’s the right man to take the club forward after the Ronny Deila era.
And with 60 per cent saying ‘Yes’ he is the right man for the job it’s clear Rodgers will have the backing of the majority of Bhoys fans should he land the gig.

However, Celtic fans are an opinionated bunch and our poll will also have attracted supporters of other clubs and while their identities remain a mystery some 40 per cent feel the club should go in a different direction.
Those who want someone else are likely to be disappointed though, with Rodgers now 4/11 to be named manager in the coming days.
Neil Lennon has revealed his interest in returning to the role and can be backed at 11/2, while Mackay is third in the betting at 7/1.
Moyes looks likely to have to wait for a return to management at 8/1, while Giggs is very much an outside bet at 9/1.
So it looks as though Rodgers will be the man charged with taking on Rangers nest season, while pushing the Bhoys on in Europe, and while not universally welcomed it will put a smile on many of the Celtic Park faithful’s faces.
