Roma v Chelsea: In-form duo set for another thrilling contest
Published:Chelsea take on Roma tonight in a Champions League game which could have huge ramifications for Group C.
Antonio Conte’s Blues sit top with seven points, while hosts Roma are on five.
But with Atletico Madrid expected to win at home to Qarabag and move onto five, the pressure is on.
Chelsea and Roma played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge, and both sides have won all three games since that contest.
Oddly though, Roma’s home record in this competition is awful. The Italian outfit have won just one of their last eight home games in the Champions League.
Chelsea’s away form in the UCL has been solid. From their last ten games the Blues have picked up four wins, four draws and two defeats.
All told, the draw appears the most sensible punt this evening.
But don’t expect it to be 0-0 with so much attacking talent on display. A score draw looks great at 16/5.
Edin Dzeko bagged two in that 3-3 clash at the Bridge. The Bosnia-Herzegovina striker has 10 goals from 13 this season.
After breaking his ankle in the summer, Eden Hazard is making up for lost time. The Belgian has been excellent in recent games, and all of his three goals and four assists have come in the last five weeks.
Hazard was on scintillating form in Chelsea’s weekend win over Bournemouth. He also netted a double in that six-goal thriller with Roma, and is 6/1 to open the scoring.
While it’s seemingly a given that Chelsea and Roma will both find the net at the Stadio Olimpico. It’s perhaps unwise to expect another high-scoring encounter.
The Italian side have already kept eight clean sheets this season, suggesting they are usually far tighter at the back than on their visit to London.
