Man Utd v Copenhagen Betting Tips: Can United go through in Germany?

The Europa League begins the first evening of it’s World Cup-style finals tournament tonight as Manchester United take on FC Copenhagen in a one-legged quarter-final in Cologne.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men ran out 7-1 winners on aggregate against LASK in the last round, while Copenhagen produced a stirring comeback to see off Istanbul Basaksehir.

Who’ll come out on top this evening and book a semi-final place against either Wolves or Sevilla this time next week? We’ve previewed the match below.

Match Odds

United are 15/8 favourites to win the competition outright, and as such they’re odds-on to see off Copenhagen.

Our traders have the Red Devils down at 2/9 to win inside 90 minutes and 1/12 to qualify, while there’s 21/20 about them to keep their eighth clean sheet in this season’s competition and Win to Nil.

That miserliness could also lend itself to Man United to Win and Under 3.5 Goals at even-money.

Their Danish opponents aren’t given much of a chance at the prices, with 14/1 on offer for them to win in normal time and a slightly shorter 13/2 available for them to qualify.

Talking Tactics

Harry Maguire and Brandon Williams look set to be the only survivors from last week’s dead-rubber against LASK, with Solskjaer reverting back to a more familiar XI.

Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Masson Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes will start in a formidable front four, while Paul Pogba should partner Nemanja Matic in midfield.

Question marks remain over the form of David de Gea, but the Spaniard is expected to retain his place at the expense of Sergio Romero.

Copenhagen boss Stale Solbakken couldn’t have asked for a better performance from his side than the one they gave against Basaksehir last week.

He’s unlikely to make wholesale changes as a result, although the returning Michael Santos could replace Mikkel Kaufmann up-front.

Goalscorer Odds

United have no shortage of potential goalscorers this evening, that’s for certain. The Red Devils have found the net 23 times in the Europa League so far this season and have scored four or more on three occasions.

Portuguese ace Fernandes is the competition’s joint-top scorer with six goals, and while there’s 5/6 about him to Score Anytime, he’s proved particularly proficient from the penalty spot since moving to Old Trafford.

There’s 7/2 about him to score another penalty tonight, while Martial and Greenwood are 10/11 to get in on the act at any point during the match. Paul Pogba is given a 9/5 chance by our traders.

Jonas Wind was the hero for Copenhagen against Basaksehir, and after blowing away the cobwebs in the last-16, he’ll be eager to make his mark in the quarter-final too.

He’s a 7/2 chance to find the net for the outsiders, with Mohammed Daramy rated a 4/1 shot. Ex-United man Guillermo Valera is available at 40/1 to exact revenge on his former club.
