Ligue 1 betting tips and odds

Most of the big hitters in Ligue 1 are in action on Friday and Saturday but we’re focusing on the games taking place on Sunday.

Lens have made an excellent start to the season and return from the international break in second place, priced at 66/1 in the Ligue 1 title odds.

Franck Haise’s side are in action against Montpellier on Sunday and available at 13/10 to win in our Ligue 1 betting tips.

Montpellier v Lens

Haise has been gaining respect as head coach at Lens, who finished seventh last season but are performing even better in the current campaign having won five and drawn three of their nine games which included wins against Monaco and champions Lille.

Lens won this fixture 2-1 last season and they are on a three-match winning run away from home, so they can be backed at 11/4 to win and concede which has been the case in their previous two games on the road.

Montpellier are winless in four but they drew three of those games and another share of the spoils is 5/2, with goals thrown into the equation 3/1 in our Ligue 1 betting tips.

Their last two home games have produced goals at both ends in the first half and a repeat is 14/5.

Metz v Rennes

Metz finished a respectable 10th last season but are third from bottom in the current campaign after winning just once in their first nine outings.

Rennes signed off for the international break by ending PSG’s perfect start with a 2-0 victory and are 4/5 to prevail on Sunday despite having failed to win any of their four away games.

Bruno Genesio’s side won this fixture 3-1 last season and are 3/1 to win and concede again but the hosts went close to holding PSG to a draw last month, when the leaders struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time to seal a 2-1 win, and they drew 3-3 with Lille on the opening weekend.

A score draw is 15/4 and both teams to score and over 2.5 goals, which has been the case in Metz’s last three matches, is 13/8.

Troyes v Nice

Christophe Galtier has hit the ground running as head coach at Nice, who have won five and drawn two of their first eight games to sit in third place.

Nice, 40/1 to win the Ligue 1 title, are 20/23 to pick up a sixth victory at Troyes who have won just once this season.

The hosts have drawn their last two home games 1-1 and can be backed at 12/5 to nick a point, 10/3 with goals thrown in or 11/2 for a third match by that scoreline in our Ligue 1 betting tips.

Nice have won three of their four games on the road without conceding and are 23/10 to win to nil having kept five clean sheets this season.
