Everton 13/2 to be handed second Anfield penalty in 80 years

Published:

Everton are 13/2 to be handed a rare Anfield penalty this weekend, according to the latest odds.

The Toffees have been awarded just one spot-kick at the home of their local rivals in the last 80 years and the bookies have chalked up the odds on it happening for just the second time.

Meanwhile, it’s 9/2 referee Anthony Taylor shows any Evertonian a red card on Saturday, while it’s 6/1 for any Liverpool player to be dismissed.

And we’re 14/1 that Taylor reduces both sides to ten men.

It’s 5/2 that we see a peach scored from outside the box, with 7/2 available on two or more English players scoring.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “With one penalty in 80 years, an Everton spot-kick at Anfield is rarer than Halley’s Comet, but Toffees fans will be hoping their luck changes this weekend.”

Liverpool head into the historic contest as 4/6 favourites, with the blue half of Merseyside chalked up at 4/1..

But the Toffees haven’t defeated their great rivals since 2010, and are yet to claim a win at Anfield in the 21st century.
