Brondby v Rangers betting tips and odds

Rangers return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a trip to Denmark as the bottom two seek the win they need to keep alive their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.

The Scottish champions lost their first two games without scoring, but a 2-0 win against Brondby two weeks ago means they are back in the hunt for a top-two spot.

Gers are 10/11 favourites to make it back-to-back wins but let’s looks at some of the other options in our Brondby v Rangers betting tips.

Match Odds

Brondby have taken just one point from their three games and before their trip to Glasgow neither team had even scored so at least one team not to find the net is 11/10.

Gers are 23/10 to win to nil again, but they have been making hard work of it in the Scottish Premiership since that win against Brondby, conceding the opening goal in their last three matches, all of which came inside the opening 15 minutes.

The Danish champions are 29/20 to score the opening goal of the game or 15/2 to be leading after a quarter of an hour, although we go 9/1 and 17/2 on the hosts to take the lead between 1-10 or 11-20 minutes respectively.

Brondby made a bad start to the season, winning just one of their first nine games, but have won four and drawn one of their last five, including 2-1 wins against title contenders FC Copenhagen and Aalborg.

The Light Blues to win and both teams to score is available at 5/2 and a draw with goals at both ends is 10/3 in our Brondby v Rangers betting tips.

Rangers to win or draw, Brondby not to score in the first half and under 3.5 goals in the match is 11/10 bearing in mind this market would have paid out in all of the Danes’ games.

Talking Tactics

Gerrard sets Rangers up in a 4-3-3 formation, deploying Alfredo Morelos up front accompanied by Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe in attack for the win against Brondby.

However, Fashion Sakala scored a hat-trick at Fir Park, so the Zambian forward will have entered Gerrard’s thinking ahead of the game.

John Lundstram was left on the bench for Sunday’s 6-1 win at Motherwell and is likely to take his place in the heart of midfield.

Brondby played a three-man defence and wing-backs in a 3-5-2 at Ibrox where Mikael Uhre and Andrija Pavlovic led the line, although the former did not make the squad for Sunday’s 1-0 win at Viborg and the latter came on as a second-half sub.

Goalscorer Odds

Roofe scored the second goal against Brondby and has found the net in three of his last four games, so he is the 4/1 favourite to break the deadlock and 13/8 to score in our Brondby v Rangers betting tips.

Roving right-back James Tavernier has scored in back-to-back games and is 10/1 to break the deadlock or 7/2 to score, while Morelos and Sakala are 9/2 and 17/10 in the two markets.

Centre-back Leon Balogun scored his first goal for the club against Brondby and is 40/1 to net the game’s first goal once more or 14/1 just to find the net.

Uhre is the 9/2 favourite to score from the Brondby contingent and is 9/5 in the anytime market, but Pavlovic looks more interesting at 13/2 and 5/2 in the two options.

Christian Cappis has found the net twice in his last three games and can be backed at 9/1 to score.
