Germany vs Spain – teams announced

Published:

Spain have dropped Fernando Torres for their semi-final clash with Germany, which kicks off at 7.30pm.

Torres has failed to score in five appearances at the World Cup, and he is replaced by Barcelona’s Pedro, who is 8/1 to score first.

Spain are otherwise unchanged from the side that beat Paraguay 1-0 at the quarter-final stage.

Germany, meanwhile, have been forced into making one change, as Piotr Trochowski comes in for the suspended Thomas Muller.

Trochowski is expected to start on the right wing, alongside fellow attacking midfielders Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski, who is 7/1 to score first.

This promises to be an epic encounter, and both sides are available at 13/8 to win the tie.

The confirmed starting line-ups are:

Germany: Neuer; Lahm, Friedrich, Mertesacker, Boateng; Trochowski, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Ozil; Klose

Spain: Casillas; Ramos, Puyol, Pique, Capdevila; Busquets, Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro; Villa
