With the huge race taking place at Aintree this weekend, Ladbrokes takes you through its specialised Grand National betting tips and predictions, with insight for punters into how best to pick their winner.

In all honestly, picking the Grand National winner does require a great deal of luck, but Ladbrokes will try and break down who has the best chances of winning the prestigious race at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

Grand National betting tips

Grand National 2024 favourite

The 2023 Grand National was won by Corach Rambler, who entered the race last year handicapped at 10st 5lbs. He was victorious in the Ultima at Cheltenham Festival and finished third in the Gold Cup just last month, and is now the favourite to win this year’s Grand National.

At the time of writing, Ladbrokes has Corach Rambler as the front-runner to win back-to-back Grand Nations, at 11/2. He’s ahead of the likes of I Am Maximums (8/1), Meetingofthewaters (9/1), Vanillier (9/1) and Mr Incredible (12/1), who make up the remainder of the top five.

However, very few horses have won back-to-back Grand Nations, so there’s certainly no guarantee that Corach Rambler wins the race on Saturday. If he doesn’t, who else could be in the running?

Ladbrokes’ Grand National 2024 pick

As noted, back-to-back winners are rarely seen in the Grand National, so we aren’t going for Corach Rambler as our pick for this year’s iteration of the race. Instead, Ladbrokes has picked Meetingofthewaters at 9/1, with the bookies clearly pricing him as one of the favourites for a reason.

I Am Maximus (8/1) is another favourite for the 2024 Grand National, but Meetingofthewaters is the one that’s really sticking out to us. His recent form and performance in the Ultimate at Cheltenham and win at Leopardstown towards the end of 2023 mean he goes into this one with heaps of momentum, which could prove vital.

At seven-years-old, the Willie Mullins-trained horse has shown himself to be well versed at long distances, especially on heavy ground. However, he’s won on soft ground too, showing his versatility. He’s our pick for this one, with odds at the time of writing with Ladbrokes of 9/1.
