It will be another busy day for us at Aintree races and we will have two runners in the first race, West To The Bridge and Wilde About Oscar (13:45).

Wilde About Oscar won a handicap last time under top weight at Uttoxeter races. This is another step up and he has top weight again, but he is a very progressive novice who I like a lot. At this point of the season we thought this race would suit him as he has won over course and distance before.

It feels like West To The Bridge has had a long season but the drop back to two and a half miles is probably going to be to his liking. He won over the trip nicely earlier in the season.

Third Time Lucki (14:20) runs in the Top Novice. He carries some high class form. We have been very happy with him since Cheltenham. I think he has a definite chance as this track should really suit him.

Shan Blue (14:50) runs in the Mildmay Novices’ Chase. He has been well since Cheltenham. He had quite a hard race that day. He kicked on and tried to serve it up but didn’t really get home from turning in.

Three miles on this track should be good and the more fences the better. I am looking forward to getting him back out there. He is a tough horse who carries plenty of condition so should be lasting a full season. There is always a little bit of doubt about horses who start in October, but he does seem very well.

Midnight River (16:40) has been specifically kept for this race since he won at Ascot. I’ve been very happy with him and I think everything, track, trip and ground, will suit him.
