Horse Racing: O’Brien and Harrington runners backed in Classics

There have been plenty of market movers for the upcoming Classics, most notably runners for Aidan O’Brien and Jessica Harrington.

Odds have been slashed for the 1000 Guineas with Love moving to 12/1 from 20/1 following a wave of support since Monday.

However, Quadrilateral remains the favourite and has seen his odds drop to 3/1 having previously been a 4/1 shot.

In the Irish 1000 Guineas, the Jessica Harrington-trained Albigna looks like she will remain in Ireland and is now clear favourite at 13/8 from 5/2.

Passion has been clipped for the Investec Oaks and is now 20/1 from 25/1 after some each-way interest.

Elsewhere, in the Commonwealth Cup, Pierre Lapin has been supported into favouritism at 6/1 (from 8/1), replacing Earthlight who is 7/1.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “As running plans become clearer for the likes of Aidan O’Brien and Jessica Harrington, we are seeing a lot more interest in the Classic markets. Today’s big move was Love in the 1000 Guineas, while Albigna was supported into clear favouritism for the Irish equivalent.”
