ITV Racing Betting Tips: Can Fox Power to Lincoln Trial victory?

Published:
Wolverhampton

The 2020 CheltenhamFestival might be just a few days away but attention this Saturday will be firmlyfocused on Wolverhampton and Ayr with six live races on ITV4.

And while all eyes will be focused on the pinnacle of NationalHunt Racing next week, it’s the All-Weather that piques our interest here, withthe Lincoln Trial and Listed Wulfruna Stakes taking centre-stage.

Ayr subs in for Sandown to complete the televised card, andwe’ve had our say in our ITV Racing Tips.

NAP – Fox Power – 13:35 Wolverhampton

There are a couple of classy operators in this field but our preference is for Fox Power. The four-year-old is lightly raced and showed what he’s capable of 12 months ago when taking a Listed contest at Newcastle.

His returnto the track this season has been slow, although a ½l second behind ViaSerendipity represents a much better effort. The winner that day reopposes herebut will have to back that up on 9lb worse terms.

Our pick is also a course and distance winner and will have been aimed at this race with the Lincoln in mind, for which he’s a 25/1 shot. With Silvestre De Sousa on board, he should be able to continue his progress.

NB – Jessiemac – 14:30 Ayr

This is unlikely to be one for the purists but it’s a race where Jessiemac can continue her good recent form. Ian Duncan’s runner has been uber-consistent this season and looks more reliable than anything else in the race.

Thesix-year-old has gone up 12lb for back-to-back successes this term. It’s a markwhich saw her winning run come to an end at Newcastle last time, although shestill managed to finish runner-up in the contest.

She seems tobe the one horse on the up in this seemingly below-par field, and with a dropback in trip also set to suit, our pick looks like the one to beat over the 2m5½f distance.

Lively Longshot – Documenting – 14:45Wolverhampton

On a card filled with tight small-field races, it’s difficult to find something at a bigger price. However, we think we may well have unearthed a decent each-way shout in Documenting in the Lady Wulfruna Stakes.

Kevin Frost’scharge finished fifth in this renewal 12 months ago but has improved since witha string of frame finishes alongside a confidence-boosting win at Lingfield inNovember.

He was wellbacked here on Boxing Day before finishing runner-up, and in a 7f dash whichlacks real strength in-depth, we reckon he could go well at a decent priceunder Jack Mitchell.
