With just two rides tomorrow at Naas, the latest Paul Townend blog has the Ladbrokes ambassador declaring Captain Cody as his ‘best chance of a winner’.

Captain Cody – 1.55 Naas

He was a good winner of the Ladies Hurdle over two-and-a-half miles at Gowran. His bumper form is very solid. He ran a cracking race in the Champion Bumper behind A Dream To Share. He beat Blizzard Of Oz at Limerick, the horse who beat him at Aintree, but he has finished in front of him twice. He beat him at Limerick, and was second at Punchestown when Blizzard of Oz came third. That is why I have chosen to ride him. I actually don’t think there is a whole lot between them. We are getting two pounds off the other horse which will help as well. The form with Slade Steel looks very solid now. Hopefully I am on the right one and I think he will take a bit of beating. Of my two rides today, I think Captain Cody is my best chance of a winner.

Allegorie De Vassy – 3.40 Naas

She was well beaten by Riviere D’etel the last day at Fairyhouse. We were giving Riviere D’etel 7lbs that day and are only giving her 2lbs this week. I think we ran well below ourselves that day and Riviere D’etel looked back to her best. We will try again. Maskada is very well treated here with the conditions of the race and is rated the same as us. We have to give her weight and that will make her tough to beat. We will do what we can.
