La La Land backed for clean sweep at the 2017 Oscars

La La Land is set for more awards season glory at the Oscars this weekend, according to the latest odds.
The hit musical comedy has already taken a number of gongs at this year’s Golden Globes and BAFTA ceremonies.
And the critically acclaimed smash is now long odds-on at 1/7 and 1/16 to land the Best Picture and Best Director awards respectively.
Meanwhile, Emma Stone is equally short in the Best Actress betting as the clear 1/6 favourite.
We’ve priced La La Land at 4/1 to equal the current number of Academy Award wins (11) as set by Titanic nearly 20 years ago, or it’s a 14/1 shot the film scoops 12 or more.
However, Ryan Gosling (14/1) looks set to miss out on the Best Actor gong with Casey Affleck well backed to collect it at 4/6 for his efforts in Manchester By The Sea.
Viola Davis (1/25) is the overwhelming favourite to take home the Best Supporting Actress honours, or it’s a 12/1 shot Michelle Williams causes an eleventh hour upset.
Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali appears to be home and hosed at 1/6 for Best Supporting Actor, with Dev Patel (6/1) his closest rival in the market.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “At this stage it would be a huge surprise to see the odds-on favourites usurped, and La La Land looks set to sweep the board at the Oscars.”
