Aintree may have been and gone, but that doesn’t mean we are done with the Nationals just yet, as Ayr takes centre stage.
The 4m½f contest north of the border was won last year by Peter Bowen’s Al Co.
Surprising at 40/1 last year, he took in the Grand National on Merseyside last week, but only made it as far as the first fence.
You won’t get such fancied prices this year, but with horses taking in both marathon events having a terrible record, maybe he’s one to swerve anyway.
