Love Your Club: Jordan Morton – Airdrieonians
Published:
Airdrieonians may not boast the biggest fan base in the SPFL but the supporters the Diamonds do have are passionate and loyal.
That is the view of winger Jordon Morton, who arrived at the club after spells at Hearts, Cowdenbeath, Livingston and settled quickly at Excelsior Stadium.
Here he tells Ladbrokes News why he loves Airdrieonians FC…
Why do you love Airdrieonians ?
It’s a good club. It’s a family club first and foremost. And while we don’t have too many fans, those that are there are hugely passionate.
What’s the vibe like in the dressing room?
Its always good to see the boys and on match days their all buzzed up and there’s no better feeling than walking out on the pitch.
The music is a big part of the build up and we’ve got some good tunes on the go here at the moment.
Describe the fans and what they mean to the club
Whenever you meet fans you can tell on their faces how much it means to them and that drives you on.
Can you name an Airdrieonians Backroom Hero?
Framey the kit man is a really nice guy. He went through a bad accident during a game once but he’s getting there again and he’s a gentleman and a great person to have at the club.
What’s the best thing about being an Airdronians footballer?
It was my childhood dream so I’ve fulfilled that to a certain extent and hopefully I can go on to build on to bigger and better things. To make my mum and dad proud is also a hugely important thing for me.
