Marc Ó Sé previews Sunday’s provincial finals in Munster and Connacht
Published:
There are a couple of provincial championship finals taking place in Ulster and Connacht this weekend and Ladbrokes ambassador Marc Ó Sé gave us his thoughts on both games.
Galway and Sligo do battle for the Nestor Cup in Castlebar on Sunday. It’s all systems go for Sligo who are flying at the minute. Their U20s are back-to-back Connacht champions, while their senior team made easy work of New York at Markievicz Park.

Padraic Joyce’s Galway side have been impressive at times this year and with the panel of players he has at his disposal, there is no doubt they can win the Nestor Cup
He has a star-studded full forward line consisting of Ian Burke, Damien Comer, and Shane Walsh, so I’m going with Galway to win and am also backing Comer for the first goal at 4/1.
The Munster football final sees Clare take on Kerry in what should be an intriguing clash. Not many of us fancied Clare to beat Cork but they did and in doing so have solidified their position in the All-Ireland series.

Colm Collins is doing unbelievable work with this team and year after year they have exceeded expectations. However, I think they will go into the All-Ireland series as the second seed and I expect Kerry to take care of business. Although Clare possess dangerous forwards that can hurt you, I still think Kerry’s fire power up front will be too much for them.
That said, Clare will be looking at what Kildare nearly did to Dublin last weekend so expect them to bring huge energy and fight to this game.
Kerry are overwhelming favourties here and I am backing them to cover the 12-point handicap at 10/11.
