Ladbrokes previews the Netherlands' Euro 2024 quarter-final clash against Turkey on Saturday evening in Germany. Will Ronald Koeman’s side continue their impressive run, or will Vincenzo Montella’s team cause a major upset?
Netherlands v Turkey preview & betting odds
The Netherlands have shown mixed form in Euro 2024, winning only one of their group stage matches, drawing one and losing another. However, they secured a comfortable victory against Romania in the last 16, solidifying their status as one of the tournament’s strong contenders.
The Dutch attack, featuring Memphis Depay, Cody Gakpo, and Donyell Malen, has been in good shape, with Gakpo scoring three goals in four matches as one of the front-runners in the race for the Golden Boot.
Depay and Malen, as well as Xavi Simons behind them, have also provided key contributions, making the Netherlands a formidable offensive unit. Can they maintain their momentum against Turkey?
Turkey, known for their tenacity and strategic flexibility, navigated the group stage well, earning 6 points from 3 matches. Their thrilling win over Austria in the last 16 showcased their resilience and fighting spirit, with many tipping Ralf Rangnick's side to win.
The odds favor the Netherlands for this match, but Turkey’s unpredictable nature means they could pose a significant challenge. The bookies see a draw as a more likely outcome than a win for Turkey, though the Netherlands remain the favorites.
Netherlands v Turkey team news
As for the team news, things aren't looking great for Turkey, with Orkun Kokcu and Ismail Yuksek both set to miss tomorrow night's game through suspension after picking up yellow cards in the thrilling win over Austria last week.
Merih Demiral, who found the back of the net twice for Turkey in their round of 16 tie, will also miss the game (and the semi-final if Turkey get there), after being banned by UEFA for two matches following his controversial goal celebration against Austria.
However, Hakan Calhangolu and Samet Akaydin, both of whom missed the match against Austria through suspension, will be able to be selected for their nation once again.

It's a fully fit squad for the Netherlands though, who are expected to be unchanged from their win over Romania after seeming to find their rhythm.
Netherlands: Verbruggen; Dumfries, De Vrig, Van Dijk, Ake; Reijnders, Schouten, Simons; Gakpo, Bergwijn, Depay
Turkey: Gunok; Kadioglu, Akaydin, Bardakci, Muldur; Ozcan, Ayhan, Calhanoglu; Yildiz, Yilmaz Guler
