Punters have flocked to back Rishi Sunak to be the next leader of the Conservatives, according to our latest odds.
Following the Chancellor’s lifeline for the economy on Tuesday, the bookies can report Sunak is being backed off the boards to become the next Tory leader, seeing his odds cut into 6/1 from 8/1 yesterday.
Michael Gove sits in second at 10/1 and there’s 16/1 on offer for Dominic Raab, James Cleverly, Jeremy Hunt, Penny Mordaunt and Sajid Javid.
Ladbrokes’ Jessica O’Reilly said: “Punters are clearly impressed with Sunak. He’s barely been Chancellor a month and he’s already stormed to the top of the Tory leadership betting.”
