Liverpool's next manager

Ladbrokes presents its Premier League acca, with five picks from England’s top flight this weekend as we approach the business end of the season.

There’s no rest for the wicked, as after a stacked midweek round of fixtures, we’re back with a huge clash between Man United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, with the game having major implications on the title race.

We’re going for a win for Liverpool here, the reverse of what happened in the FA Cup between the two sides last month. You can back our huge Premier League acca at the time of writing for just over 72/1.

Premier League acca

Burnley to beat Everton – 4/1

We’ll get on to talking about the games at the top of the table, but we kick off our Premier League acca by looking at one of the matches that will have a major say on the relegation battle.

At the time of writing, Burnley are 19th in the Premier League, and are one of the front-runners to get relegated to the Championship next month. However, we’re predicting that Vincent Kompany’s side will pick up a big win against Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Burnley are actually undefeated in each of their last four Premier League games, which included a 2-1 win over Brentford and a 2-2 draw with Chelsea last weekend. And at 4/1, we’re pegging them to emerge victorious against Everton, making the relegation battle really rather interesting.

Aston Villa to draw with Brentford – 3/1

Next up, we head to Villa Park for Aston Villa’s game against Brentford on Saturday, where we’re predicting a draw between the two sides.

Villa are coming off a 4-1 loss to Man City, with star striker Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez both potentially still absent through injury. With the games coming thick and fast now, and a Europa Conference League quarter-final to content with next week, Unai Emery’s side may have their focus elsewhere.

As such, we’re going for a draw on Saturday afternoon, with Ivan Toney perhaps proving that he’s worth of a spot in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024, against the side that his main rival for the spot, the aforementioned Watkins, plays for.

Tottenham to beat Nottingham Forest – 2/5

From one side competing for a spot in the Champions League next season to another, we’re predicting Tottenham to do what Aston Villa couldn’t, and emerge from this weekend’s round of fixtures with all three points.

Spurs have won three of their last five games in the league, and we’re predicting that’s going to be four come the end of the weekend, with victory for Ange Postecoglu’s side at home to Nottingham Forest.

The game represents a good opportunity for Spurs to pick up some points ahead of a crazy schedule which sees them play Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all in the space of a week, where wins may prove hard to come by.

Liverpool to beat Manchester United – 8/13

Liverpool may have lost 4-3 to Man United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last month, but in truth, the Reds should have put the game to bed earlier on when they had the chance.

In the league, where Liverpool are currently top with just eight games to go, we aren’t predicting that they’ll make the same mistakes, so we’re going for a win for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with odds of 8/13.

Man United, after initially being 2-0 down and bringing the game back to 3-2, suffered a disappointing collapse and lost 4-3 to Chelsea in their last Premier League game. They may want to get back to winning ways here, putting pressure on Villa and Spurs above them, but we think Liverpool simply have too much quality and match intelligence to let it happen.

Arsenal to beat Brighton – 8/13

Also at 8/13 is Arsenal to beat Brighton away from home, which forms the final leg of our Premier League acca this weekend.

In truth, Brighton haven’t been nearly in as good form as they were last season, despite sitting ninth in the Premier League table. We’re predicting the game to be difficult for Arsenal, but not so hard that the Gunners fail to pick up three points.

Each game is must win for Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in the run-in, and we’re predicting Mikel Arteta’s side to continue their momentum with another big win here.

You can back Ladbrokes’ Premier League acca, at the time of writing, with odds of 72.06/1.
